Operationalization of Isiolo Abattoir Gains Momentum

Operationalization of the Isiolo Abattoir has today gained momentum after the SCIP Engineering Group from South Africa and the County Government of Isiolo held a meeting to deliberate on its structural design including that of feeding lot and drainage.

According to Mr. Leon Bernard, an industrial engineer of abattoir who presented the recent designs to members present, the latest designs are the best standards. He compared to those of abattoirs in South Africa and reported they are among the best.

The CEC member for Agriculture livestock and Fisheries Development Dr. Lawrence Mwongela said that the abattoir is one of the key flagship projects for Governor Kuti's government. This he said noting that efforts directed towards its operationalization are welcome.

" I am happy with the latest designs of our abattoir. It is my hope that works towards operationalization will commence in a month's time after we identify a contractor and awarded the contract," Dr.Mwongela Said.

In addition to presenting the redesigned structure, SCIP Engineering Group also touched on; refrigerators, chillers, and equipment that the contractor is expected to install at the abattoir.
